From Tangier to the desert

On the first day you climb into the Rif to Chefchaouen, the town of blue houses. Then come Volubilis, Meknes and Fes, and from Fes the Middle Atlas and the Ziz Valley down to Merzouga. The way back runs through the Todra Gorge, the Dades Valley and Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech.

A 7-day Tangier desert tour covers the route at an easy pace, with a full day in Fes and another in the desert. With 10 to 13, you add a day in Chefchaouen, Marrakech with a guide and, on the longest, Asilah, Rabat and Essaouira.

If you arrive by ferry

We pick you up at the port of Tangier. The 13-day tour returns to Tangier via Casablanca and Asilah, for travellers who came by car or ferry and want to go back the same way.

What’s the shortest tour from Tangier to the desert?

The 9-day tour: arrival in Tangier, Chefchaouen, Volubilis and Fes, the Merzouga desert with a day trip, arrival in Marrakech through the Dades Valley and a transfer to the airport on the last day. We don’t run shorter tours from Tangier: they would mean too many hours on the road each day.

Can I return to Tangier at the end?

Yes. The 13-day tour returns to Tangier, and any other tour can be adapted.
